Welcome to the Heart of Iowa Soccer Club (HOISC) – we’re glad you’re here! Our club is all about introducing kids to the great sport of soccer and providing a safe environment for them to learn and play the game -- and have fun!
A few details about our club . . .
- HOISC is a volunteer-run club – parents volunteer to coach teams, serve in board positions, and assist in other areas as needed.
- HOISC is a recreational club. All kids who register will be able to play; there are no tryouts.
- The club registrar works to assign players to a team; requests for kids to be on the same team are not recommended. If there are extenuating circumstances, requests may be considered by the registrar and/or the board.
- We work to keep costs low – the registration fee is $60/child. A game jersey is supplied to all players.
- Registration process: an “open registration period” is announced prior to each season; registration forms are completed and paid online. First-time players must mail in a copy of their birth certificate to ensure correct placement.
- Equipment needed: each player must wear soccer shoes and shin guards to every practice and game. Soccer socks, black shorts, and a water bottle are also strongly recommended.
- HOISC sponsors a free soccer shoe exchange each spring. A week or two prior to the start of the spring season, a soccer shoe exchange is held. Players and parents are welcome to come and “shop” for soccer shoes; it’s a great way to get rid of last season’s too-small shoes and find a new gently-used pair for free!
